Cargo Agent

Transguard Group is currently recruiting for Cargo Agent for its Aviation division. The successful candidate will be responsible for day to day cargo operational activities as per defined parameters on Acceptance, Customer contact areas, and Cargo Handling (Build up/ Breakdown).  A Cargo Agent would need to comply to the company standards, matric, rules, safety regulations, internal policies and procedures, airport and government mandated regulations to ensure all tasks are completed in a safe and timely manner providing a high standard of Customer service.

In this role your responsibilities will include the following.

• Dispatch baggage/Cargo/Mail correspondence to flights; Ensuring that all pre and post flight documentation is completed and delivered in a timely manner
• Ensure performance is as per laid down procedures and guidelines in a controlled and consistent manner as well as ensuring SOP and SLA are followed correctly whilst complying with relevant safety, security, quality, health and environmental procedures
• Perform extraordinary loading operations and appropriate documentation is completed. This includes but is not limited to, car acceptance, dangerous goods checklist, VIP shipments handling ensuring execution is done accordingly to safety procedures and working instructions.
• Ensure that customer inquiries are answered in a prompt and efficient manner through Face-to-Face interaction; or Phone making sure it is answered within three rings and respond to day-to-day email for a continuous monitoring on issues until desired results are achieved
• Drive and operate a Technical equipment (e.g. baggage tractors, conveyor belts, etc.) with a timely execution; ensuring cargo is stored in the correct location / terminal and that the system is updated promptly with an accurate information
• Ensure that all documentation pertaining to these tasks are completed as per defined SLA’s e.g. Buildup and Breakdown
• Ensure equipment’s are available prior Build up and Breakdown; and provide accurate identification on highlighting if an equipment defect is present in line with safety standards by regularly monitoring equipment functions
• Ensure that flight manifesting is done as per procedures and that all documents accompany manifest
• To follow and support airport operations on performing Day-to-Day Operations related to own jobs to ensure continuity of work including operating and maneuvering of a Technical equipment (e.g. pre-flight aircraft operations (de-icing), immediate turnaround activities (e.g Cargo offloading)) for compliance on safety and internal policies

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience.

• Must have completed High School or equivalent diploma
• Proficient in English speaking, reading, writing & listening
• High level of attention to details
• Strong Customer Service & Communication Skill
• Able to lift a cargo with 30 KG weight
• Willingness to work outdoor
• Customer-service oriented
