Communications Manager - PR and Communications

Responsible for assisting the Head-PR & Communications with internal and external communications (including media relationships), the Communications Manager must be a strategic story teller with a sensitivity to Transguard’s goals and values and the ability to relay them to stakeholders, employees and journalists alike. An excellent communicator (both spoken and written), the Communications Manager must have a high EQ and the relationship-building skills and confidence to work across departments, cultural boundaries and media outlets to effectively communicate messages, programmes and initiatives. Essential skills include good judgement, professionalism and discretion.

Responsibility   

• Conceptualise and produce clear, succinct and effective messaging for Transguard in a variety of settings and to a wide audience, which ranges from non-native English speakers to senior stakeholders
• Ensure that both internal and external communications maintain Transguard’s tone of voice, both in terms of the message itself and how that message is communicated.
• Maintain the internal and external communications calendars and assist in carrying out Transguard’s overall communications strategy, including the coordination of communications plans with Marketing campaigns and Sales activities.
• Collaborate with the Head-PR & Communications to continually enhance the company’s communication strategies, analyzing and measuring their effectiveness and implementing adjustments as necessary.
• Conduct peer edits for grammar, style, and overall writing improvement within the organisation, including job posts, signage, intranet posts (myTG), policies and more.
• Creatively collaborate with all departments in the planning, creation and implementation of internal communications, including signage, presentations, photo- or videoshoots and others.
• Intelligently respond to feedback from staff and senior management, and adjust communications content accordingly.               
• Draft messages or scripts for the General Manager and Executive Leadership Team, including content for the annual Town Hall gathering.
• Maintain positive relationships with journalists and other members of the media, pitching stories and sharing company news that will increase Transguard’s public profile.
• Contribute content for Transguard’s social media channels to underscore PR messaging. 
• Produce and maintain press kits for Transguard, individual business units and key members of the Executive Leadership Team.
• Produce monthly reports on press coverage and manage digital clipping services for PR efforts.

To be sucessful in this role you must have 

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, PR or English literature
• 3+ years experience as a Commuications Specialist 
• Excellent English speaking and writing skills
• Proficiency in Arabic, Hindi, Urdu, Tamil, Tagalog and/or Mayalam would be a plus
• Social Media savvy
