Cost Estimator- Transguard Living

Job Description

Transguard is now looking to recruit a Cost Estimator for our Transguard Living division. The (site based) Cost Estimator will be responsible for visiting customers' properties, diagnosing faults, understanding the customers’ requirements, and providing a detailed, fully quantified, and specified estimate to meet expectations. This will include project duration, cost, materials, and labour. The job holder will be responsible for providing training and mentorship to technicians to proactively increase the communication between estimation and delivery functions by maintaining a continuous improvement approach to the accuracy of estimations and delivery.

In this role your responsibilities include the following:

  • Working closely with the Operations Manager and the Control Room Manager on all quoted works
  • Managing the end-to-end process for all quotations, collating time, materials and labour required for each request
  • Following up, editing, and reviewing all submitted quotation to ensure the appropriate information is provided to the customers
  • Completing all surveys in line with our agreed Service Level Agreements (SLA) and proactively managing any deviations or issues that may arise during the process 
  • Ensuring estimations are accurate as per customer expectations and costed using appropriate materials and accurate durations for time and labour
  • Reviewing market rates of our services and providing justifications for any increases/decreases 
  • Liaising with the Transguard procurement team on supplier agreements in order to ensure all KPIs and SLAs are met.

 

Skills

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Maintenance background
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in pricing, or contract operations Strong critical thinking, analytical and numeracy skills
  • Ability to prioritise and coordinate multiple work requirements to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, managers, and clients
