Electrician

Job Responsibilities 

·         Conduct regular preventative maintenance inspections of electrical equipment

·         Conduct the thermography testing

·         Should follow SOPs and all HSE protocols

·    Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.

· Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.

·         Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.

·   Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.

· Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.

·     Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.               

·    Demonstrate Transguard’s capability to clients as a market leader in the area of MEP maintenance; being knowledgeable and confident of the equipment and requirements

·  Develop and maintain an excellent technical knowledge of existing and new services/products through in-house or external training courses

·    Develop excellent professional relationships with all clients by demonstrating an understanding of their MEP requirements

·         To assume responsibility for a high quality and timely delivery

·         Provide regular reports & updates to the Operations Manager

·         Perform other duties as assigned.

·         Designs, fabricates and installs electrical systems and components; ensures code compliance in installing and maintaining electrical equipment.

·         Performs lighting maintenance and repairs to all buildings, parking lots; performs new installation of lighting fixtures of both interior and exterior of buildings and facilities.

·         Performs preventive maintenance on electrical distribution equipment, emergency lighting, emergency backup generators and related equipment.

·         Installs motor controllers, service equipment, low and high voltage systems and complete electrical systems for new construction projects.

·         Responds to emergencies including evaluating and taking required actions and determining if support is needed immediately.

·  Completes work orders; maintains activity logs; makes material and supply purchases; tracks inventory.

·         Perform cable pulling task

Test electrical circuits for serviceability

Identify and rectify faulty electrical circuits

Test protective devices

Competent in the use of multi meters, insulation resistance meters, clamp meters and phase meter.

Competent in assemble, testing, installation and maintenance of electrical and electronic equipment and tools

Competent to handle and correct malfunctioning electrical system

Competent to inspect electrical system and identify hazards and correct the settings required

Knowledge of power tools, medium high voltage electrical equipment and its safety uses

Competent on operation of back-up power systems such as Generators and UPS

Competent on reading, recording and reporting electrical energy system requirements
