Engineer - Airfield Systems

Job Description

Transguard Group is the UAE’s most trusted business support and outsourcing provider and has a large, dynamic and culturally diverse workforce with 50,000 employees!  We are currently recruiting for a Engineer - Airfield Systems for our trusted client to be based out of their headquarters in Dubai

Job Purpose-

An engineer is required to work with the airfield systems team in business technology to handle projects management, contractors management, and airport systems implementation. The candidate must have a hands-on experience in airport systems especially in the airfield, ATC and aircraft support systems. The candidate must be familiar with projects management tools and projects commissioning activities.

Business Case
BT airfield systems team scope of work kept increasing by adding additional systems to implement and support like VTMS, Turnaround Monitoring, Headstand Cameras on RTDXB, Remote Tower Views…etc. and to be able to execute the project and maintain them efficiently, an additional resource is required to carry some of the day-to-day activities and increase the team bandwidth.

Job Accountabilities-

Daily follow-up with systems implementation teams

  • Make sure that work is getting delivered as planned.
  • Highlight any deviations of the plan on-time and suggest rectifications.
  • Report execution progress.

Projects Documentation

  • Scope of work documents and execution plans.
  • Training material
  • Commissioning documents

Testing & Training Coordination

  • Prepare the systems testing and training plans.
  • Coordinate with end users to prepare the testing scenarios and test cases.
  • Coordinate with systems vendors and end users for systems testing and training.

Budgets Planning

  • Plan for business-as-usual budgets required for systems operation and maintenance.
  • Provide inputs on budget items required for technology refresh, warranty extensions and support contracts.
  • Review previous year budget items and align them with future requirements.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering

The candidate must have solid knowledge of the following:

Project Management:

  • Requirements capturing and analysis.
  • Hands-on experience on managing complex projects.
  • Project’s documentation preparation.
  • Budget Preparation
  • Managing on-site contractors and controlling project timelines.
  • Good knowledge in well-known project management tools.
  • Hands-on experience in testing, commissioning, and handover.

Technical Experience: Systems Integration

  • Hands-on experience in complex IT systems integration.
  • Understanding different high and low-level integration protocols.
  • Hands-on experiments preparing traceability and cause/effect matrices.

Airport Applications

  • Experience in Airfield Ground Lighting.
  • Experience in Visual Docking Guidance.
  • Experience in AODB & Stands Planning.
  • Experience in ATC Systems (GMR, CAT11, EFPS).

Plus:

  • Knowledge in Video Analytics & Camera Infrastructure.
  • Knowledge in software development.
  • Knowledge in electrical systems.

Skills, Tools and Systems Experience:

  • Visual Docking Guidance Systems
  • Airfield Lighting Systems.
  • ATC - Electronic Strips System.
  • Ground Movement Radar (GMR).
  • CAT 11.
  • Knowledge in Projects Management and project management tools.
  • Diagrams and flows designing tools (Visio, AutoCAD).
