Guest Ambassador- EXPO Pavilion (Host)

Job Description

Transguard Workforce Solutions is now recruiting for a Guest Ambassador for one of the prominent pavilions in Expo 2020. In this role, you will be part of a large team in creating memories, inspiring generations, setting new standards in guest service, and ensuring all the operations run seamlessly to provide a truly authentic experience for the guests. The days will be varied, busy and rewarding as you guide guests, helping them make the most of the pavilion and Expo experience.

In this role, your responsibilities include the following:

  • To enhance the pavilion guest experience through engaging and fun interactions showcasing your positive attitude and pride of ownership of the host role.
  • Providing outstanding customer service to all stakeholders throughout the whole of Expo site, including guests, clients and colleagues at all times, exceeding their expectations.
  • Fully understanding the content, values and wider cultural significance of the pavilion acting as the face of the nation. 
  • Meeting and greeting guests, able to assist with queries and provide satisfactory solutions throughout the whole pavilion.
  • Managing queues and guest expectations during busy times.
  • Monitoring guest numbers and flow inside the pavilion at all times.
  • Operating ticket booths and flow gates with seamless perfection
  • Following set scripts hosting tours and educational workshops as required.
  • Facilitating guests’ journeys inside the pavilion as described in training.
  • Assisting people of determination with ease and swiftness having anticipated their needs and expectations.
  • Escorting and managing school groups through the pavilion and adapting your style as appropriate.
  • Dealing with any public complaints responsibly, calmly, efficiently, and politely following pavilion complaints procedures and reporting upwards as necessary to ensure smooth running of operations.
  • Opening and closing the pavilion and completing health and safety checks as required.
  • Understanding and assisting in pavilion procedures, for example, lost children, property, first aid and evacuations.
  • Working in conjunction with other contractors such as cleaners and maintenance as required to ensure smooth and continuous running of the pavilion.
  • Acting as translator and provide tours in different languages as your skills allow.
  • Participating in pavilion events such as evening events and parades.
  • Managing your time efficiently, ensuring you follow the daily schedules and rosters.
  • Offering additional support to the Host Team Leaders and senior staff as required.

  • Eloquent, extroverted and enjoys talking to people.
  • Confident with a willingness to learn.
  • A very good understanding of the English language
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to lead, influence and motivate team members.
  • Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to multitask, problem solve, think quickly, and adapt to ever changing environments.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
