Job Description

Transguard Group is the UAE’s most trusted business support and outsourcing provider and has a large, dynamic and culturally diverse workforce with 50,000 employees!  We are currently recruiting for a Head of Group HR for the headquarters based out of DAFZA, Dubai. 

Head of HR will be responsible for leading, motivating and guiding the Group HR (GHR) team to provide commercially astute and relevant day-to-day collaborative and supportive HR service to the business. You will be expected to develop, implement and drive all aspects of a creative and progressive HR agenda, by developing strategic plans, both long and short term, aligned to the business growth strategy, as well as supporting the overall objectives and initiatives implemented at Group and business unit level.

Responsibilities

Strategic HR Management

  • Develop, implement, manage and control strategic operating plans and budgets for HR that reflect the long-term objectives and priorities of the business whilst contributing to the wider Human Resources function;
  • Provide commercially relevant input from both a HR and general business perspective to wider business unit activities, initiatives and programs;
  • Develop and drive the HR agenda which includes identifying appropriate HR organisation strategies through application of HR knowledge and expertise; contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to help shape strategic thinking and direction;
  • Establish and control all Human Resources objectives and KPIs in line with organizational objectives and operational needs, with overall responsibility for the achievement of the HR Balanced Scorecard (BSC);
  • Accountable and responsible to lead the team in the areas of HR Business Partnering, HR Strategy, HR Group Projects, Governance, Policies, Employee Welfare & Relations, People Analytics, Rewards & Recognition, Compensation and Benefits, Fair Labour Standards and Labor Law/Employment Law issues;
  • Accountable for delivering HR Continuous Improvement (CI) savings; 
  • Support Commercial bids, tenders and mobilisation activates providing HR input, review, recommendations and guidance related to Employment Law issues and Fair Labor Standards compliance Business and Performance Management (Reporting)
  • Ensure appropriate metrics and reporting measures are in place to monitor and drive performance across all HR activity streams;
  • Maintain an effective system of controls throughout the team, covering non-financial as well as financial controls;
  • Responsible for ensuring Monthly Performance Review (MPR) reporting is completed on time, with accuracy against GHR scorecard, and presenting said report in MPR to Leadership Team;
  • Support Snr Director - Legal & HR in the monthly GHR review to the Managing Director
  • Ensure appropriate metrics and reporting measures are in place to monitor and drive performance across all HR activity streams;
  • Maintain an effective system of controls throughout the team, covering non-financial as well as financial controls;
  • Responsible for ensuring Monthly Performance Review (MPR) reporting is completed on time, with accuracy against GHR scorecard, and presenting said report in MPR to Leadership Team;
  • Support Snr Director - Legal & HR in the monthly GHR review to the Managing Director
  • Drive functional performance through effective and accurate data analysis and reporting that covers, but is not limited to, BSC, Payroll, Arrivals, Transactional Shared Service, HR HelpDesk, Employee Relations and Welfare, HR site offices, HR Cycle plan activities (Performance review, engagement survey etc), Onboarding, Career Development, Talent and Succession Planning;
  • Accountable for Lean Six Sigma project delivery across GHR (project assignment, coaching/mentoring and sign off). Accountable as process owner for wider LSS projects impacting HR work stream
  • Ensure that the team, and wider business, complies with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements and, where appropriate, best practice;
  • Ensure that appropriate standards of conduct are complied with
  • Ensure all governance and strategy are complied with and daily operations are executed to plan, completed within the agreed timeframes and all KPIs are met;
  • Provide expert professional advice and support to business units on all aspects of people management, which fully reflects the business desire to be an employer of choice, current employment legislation and best practice;
  • Point of contact for escalation of any matters being dealt with by the team or within the wider business

Stakeholder Management

  • Engage with the senior leadership team, driving forward trusted and ethical relationships within the business – be known as a trusted advisor;
  • Build effective relationships with peers and wider ELT members that enable you to build a wider knowledge and understanding of business issues, objectives and processes;
  • To successfully communicate the Human Resources strategy as agreed by the Snr Director – Legal & Human Resources
  • Lead the continuous improvement and operational excellence of GHR capability through people, processes, tools, information, and governance;
  • Challenge the team to constantly innovate process and approach, be a leader and recognised for driving change
  • Leads the GHR team to drive forward HR metrics and programs and achieve the HR Scorecard;
  • Ensures all advice is legally compliant with local laws and legislation and compliant with Transguard internal policies and procedures;
  • Maintain a cohesive HR Team with effective succession planning, ensuring the team are highly engaged and motivated, working toward the common goal;
  • Develop, coach and mentor the team to develop capability and personal/professional growth

Skills

  • Knowledge of HR Processes and cross functional dependencies
  • Awareness of external trends and best practices
  • Awareness of Audit and Compliance for HR Strategy & People Team including ISO accreditation understanding
  • Knowledge of HR KPIs and metrics for performance management
  • Ability to plan and organize workload and delegation of tasks
  • Project and change management skills
  • Subject Matter Expert in GCC labour law • Knowledge of ERP systems
  • Excellent communication, influencing and relationship building skills – (written, oral and presentation)
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational, negotiating and coaching skills
  • Leadership, management and organisational skills
  • Problem solving, analytical and proactive support skills
  • Exposure in the Blue-collar industry will be a plus
  • Experience in a company with over 20,000+ employees will be advantageous
