We are currently recruiting for a Health & Safety Manager to join our HSE team in Dubai.

 

Scope:

 

The Manager HSE will be responsible for developing Health, Safety, Wellbeing and Environmental standards, and ensuring that they are embedded within the organization. This position will set the strategic framework for the management of these standards and for defining and delivering against objectives that enable both the achievement of these standards and continuous improvement. Will be a provider of information, giving technical guidance on all Health, Safety & Wellbeing and Environmental matters, identifying and advising on current and future requirements and ensuring that systems, policies and processes are in place to support the continuing development of a HSE culture across the organization.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Financial

 

  • Make recommendations, propose options and develop implementation plans to ensure that the organisation maintains compliance in all areas of HSE
  • Continuously improve the HSE process, procedures in line with the international standards & best practices
  • Maintain governance structures/processes to deliver BU strategic and operational goals.
  • Actively contribute to safeguarding the people we work with, the customers we support and the vendors we partner with
  • Manage the implementation and roll out of the company’s Health, Safety, Environment, Wellbeing framework, practices and policies

Customer

 

  • Engage stakeholders across assigned Business units to ensure that these standards are embedded in daily operations
  • Work closely with all clients representatives to ensure TG staffs are falling in line with the clients’ HSE procedures
  • Keep up to date with new HSE legislation and best practice developments that affect the organisation, ensuring that when necessary, policies, procedures and processes are appropriately updated
  • Lead the BU HSE committee, providing input to the Group HSE committee reporting on plans, actions and updates
  • Responsible for assigned BU performance reports

Process

 

  • Develop, review and monitor HSE objectives and targets across the organisation, ensure these are embedded in scorecards, contracts, SOPs, Policies
  • Drive level of awareness, knowledge, and preparedness across the Company to create a culture that prioritizes effective HSE systems
  • Maintain all the records & documents related to the HSE for all the business units
  • Assist in the identification of HSE training needs for employees across the organisation. Develop and deliver this training as required
  • Lead investigations and assist others to investigate incidents / accidents
  • Ensure the effective management of corrective actions, reporting internally and externally if required. Ensure the effective communication of lessons learned
  • To carry out risk assessment & suggest control measures for the identified hazards to mitigate the risk
  • Regularly review all the risk assessments & maintain the validity of the risk assessments
  • Conduct safety audits, inspection and monitor safety in the sites to identify the HSE improvement opportunities
  • Record and maintain a database of all inspections conducted to follow up and identify corrective actions
  • Conduct toolbox talks with members of other departments therefore ensuring all departments are fully aware of all safety procedures

  • Lead and foster a safety-focused culture and work environment
  • Provide coaching, specialist advice practical support, guidance and advice to stakeholders to ensure that the organisation complies with statutory obligations and best practice
  • Responsible for the management and ongoing effectiveness of the HSE management system, safety, risk, programs and policies

 

Skills

Selection Criteria

 

  • 8-10 years of experience
  • A degree or diploma in engineering/science or equivalent or relevant field
  • Any Recognized qualification in HSE such as NEBOSH IGC, NVQ etc.
  • Bachelor’s degree in science, HSE or equivalent from recognized university
  • Lead Auditor qualification in HSE management system (ISO 45001 / 14001)
  • Basic First aid and Fire Fighting training
  • Holding valid UAE driving license
  • Excellent knowledge in implementing HSE standard including policy/ procedures, ISO standard such as ISO 45001, 14001 etc.
  • Good working knowledge of project execution and technical knowledge of safety systems such as Firefighting system
  • Good in data analysis and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of the UAE HSE legislation, code of practice & municipality guidelines, OSHAD or other emirates HSE regulations
  • Excellent knowledge of MS office
  • Good in report writing
  • Strong decision-making skills
