Job Description
As a Hospital Cleaner, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and sterile environment in and around the facility.
Preference will be given to qualified candidates who can demonstrate experience in the following;
• Cleaning designated facility areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning etc.)
• Ensuring that all areas, including examination and surgery rooms, patients' rooms, laboratories and public areas are kept clean and sanitary
• Performing general housekeeping tasks such as cleaning the rooms, hallways, offices and public areas, emptying, changing linens and making beds
• Understanding and applying safe methods of handling equipment and chemicals in hospitals
• Performing documented routine inspection and maintenance activities
• Carrying out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects
• Notifying management of deficiencies as they occur or the need for repairs
• Responding to emergencies in relation to cleaning a hospital environment
• Following all health and safety regulations
• Appropriately disposing medical waste products like syringes, hand gloves, face masks, sachets of tablets, etc.
• Wiping out blood or other body fluids and then disinfecting the area of contact
Skills
The ideal candidate must have a proven minimum of 1-year general cleaning experience with good understanding of the English language. You must also be familiar with Material Safety Data Sheets and be able to follow Hospital procedures carefully.
