Transguard Group is the UAE’s most trusted business support and outsourcing provider and has a large, dynamic and culturally diverse workforce with 50,000 employees!  We are currently recruiting for a HSE Officer – Health and Safety Environment to be a part of the Safety Division.

Job Purpose:

The successful candidate will be part of an exciting team, responsible for assisting the HSE Manager in the implementation of Health & Safety Management system within the TG maintained facilities and ensure its compliance with International Safety Standards (ISO 45001 & 14001).

In this role, your responsibilities include the following;

  • Implementation of Organizational HSE policy / procedures in compliance to ISO 45001:2018, 14001 :2015 and any other HSE standard applied/ implemented by Transguard.
  • To ensure compliance of applicable legal requirement pertaining to Health, Safety and Environment. Manage and coordinate all HSE matters related to Business Units incompliance with HSE requirement ex. Specification, safety code, legal requirement, and TG polices/ procedures.
  • To coordinate with business units to conduct occupational risk and opportunity/ environmental aspects and impact assessment for prudently managing HSE risks & creating Opportunities for continual improvement in their respective areas.
  • To advise the business on health & safety matters and assist them in the implementation of health & safety management system.
  • To operate permit to work system and implement safe system of work for ensuring operational activities are carried with all safety precautions in place.
  • To carry out HSE awareness training sessions within organization to promote safety culture and to carry out/ arrange job specific training for Operatives.
  • Investigate HSE incidents and noncompliance events to determine root cause and recommend remedial action to prevent reoccurrence. To identify any patterns in lagging indicators that may require further investigation and improvement across the business and within individual business units.
  • To conduct periodic safety inspections for identification of HSE hazards at workplace/ premises and ensure these hazards are minimized by implementing adequate control measures.
  • To ensure the tracking and maintenance of all records & documents related to the HSE such as training, investigation reports etc.
  • To prepare all the necessary HSE documents as per the client & legal requirements for any new sites before the mobilization and ensure they are followed and regularly revised to include any changes.
  • To conduct internal audits as per schedule and attend audits with the external auditors & clients whenever required.
  • To work closely with the TG client’s health & safety representatives to ensure TG staffs are aware and following their health & safety procedures. Attend client meetings whenever required.
  • To conduct inspections related to fire and safety therefore ensuring all buildings are compliant in all matters relating to fire safety.
  • To coordinate with local authority/ bodies for mutual assistance and liaise with Civil Defense during emergencies to mitigate loss of life and damage to property.
  • To assist the facility manager/ safety manager in investigating accidents or incidents to identify conditions that cause accidents and seek actions to prevent the same.
  • Any other business-related task assigned by line manager

Skills

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience;

  • Any Recognized qualification in HSE such as NEBOSH, NVQ ETC.
  • Bachelor’s degree in science / HSE from recognized university.
  • Lead Auditor qualification in HSE management system (ISO 45001 / 14001)
  • Basic First aid and Fire Fighting training
  • Minimum 2 Years’ Experience in Soft FM industry and Mall management projects
  • Good communicator written and spoken
  • Teamwork/ collaborative approach.
  • Adaptability
  • Empower people in HSE through role modelling.
  • Good knowledge in implementing HSE standard including policy/ procedures, ISO standard such as ISO 45001, 14001 etc.
  • Working knowledge of project execution and technical knowledge of safety systems such as Firefighting system
  • Analytical skills
