Job Description

We are currently recruiting for an Investigations Officer - Professional Standards and Compliance ("IO") to join our team at Transguard Group. The candidate is to be based out of UAE.

Scope 


To assist the Head - Professional Standards and Compliance function (“PSC”) of Transguard Group LLC and its subsidiaries (“Company”). The department shall function as an independent and objective body that investigates criminal activity of Transguard employees through whistleblowing, complaints and concerns within the Company from employees and/or third parties and reviews and evaluates Company compliance issues.

The PSC IO shall report to the Head of PSC and, as directed, investigate whistleblowing, complaints and allegations of illegal conduct. The IO may at times be required to lead the investigation and resolution of such complaints and allegations, after consultation with the Head and/or Director of PSC;

Job Responsibilities

  • Carry out investigations as directed by the Head of PSC.
  • Maintain high moral ethics, supporting the PSC team to periodically review and revise policies and procedures for the general operation of the PSC function to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with business units to provide advice and guidance on Professional Standards matters and to identify opportunities for new initiatives that will improve standards of behaviour.
  • Support the Manager of PSC in developing the Professional Standards strategy and associated policies that are aligned with the Company’s strategic aims and with the Code of Conduct.
  • Support the Manager of PSC in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Professional Standards operating procedures; to ensure that these deliver appropriate outcomes and are consistent with Company mission and values.
  • Respond as directed by the Manager of PSC to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures, illegal activity and misconduct by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative procedures.
  • Act independently to ensure that compliance Issues/concerns within the Company are being appropriately evaluated, investigated and reported to the Manager of PSC for suitable resolution.
  • Compile and provide detailed, factual, evidential reports in respect of each investigation to the Manager of PSC, and as requested, keep the Senior Director of Legal informed of the operation and progress of the Professional Standards.
  • Collaborate with other business units regarding complaints, allegations of misconduct and compliance issues for investigation and resolution. Consult with the Manager of PSC to resolve any issues.
  • Provide support to the Ethics hotline.
  • Seek to Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk within the Company to support the Manager of PSC to develop/implement corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues, and provide general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.
  • Support and promote the PSC communication program for the organization, including promoting (a) use of the Ethics hotline; (b) heightened awareness of Code of Conduct, and (c) understanding of new and existing compliance issues and related policies and procedures, to ensure Company-wide awareness of Professional Standards policy and procedures.
  • Work with the Human Resources and COE departments and others as appropriate to deliver an effective PSC training programme, including appropriate introductory training for new employees as well as ongoing training for all employees and managers.
  • Actively support the performance of the PSC function on a continuing basis, taking appropriate steps to improve its effectiveness.
  • Highlight legal challenges by understanding current and proposed legislation; enforcing laws, rules and regulations; recommending new procedures; complying with legal requirements.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations to remain abreast of the status of all Professional Standards issues and to identify trends.
