Job Role-

To develop, update, support and maintain the web applications and e-services on Organization's website, Corporate Intranet Portal and different hand held devices such as iPhone, Android and Blackberry.
Responsible for maintaining the content and ensuring on-going support for Organization’s website and portal to enable easy user interface for internal and external customers.

Job Responsibilities-

Alignment of Applications with IT Strategy

• Support and manage the development of internal web applications and e-services with standards, tools, technologies, architecture and data to ensure alignment of the same with the overall IT strategy.

Standards Development

• Support the Senior Software Engineer in the process of developing and designing Organization’s IT applications standards covering all application tools and technologies, set the basis for implementation and monitor compliance throughout the organization

Project Management

• Manage and develop multiple internal projects by ensuring proper ownership of scheduling, issues, cost, risks, decisions, communication and internal processes

Application design

• Support the Senior Software Engineer in designing efficient and proper IT architecture for internal web applications and e-services
• Develop robust IT architecture for internal web applications and eservices in line with the latest technologies and best practices in the IT industry to ensure best in class IT Systems for Organization.

Development and Coding

• Develop complete web applications using ASP.net, classic ASP, Visual Basic, C#, LINQ, XML, Visual Studio and SharePoint Designer
• Create Workflows using SharePoint Engine, ASP.Net Workflows, or third party workflows such as Ultimo.
• Create and support complete mobile hand held device application for iOS, Android and Windows mobile applications.
• Create well designed web pages using HTML4, HTML5, CSS,
  Javascript, JQuery, and related tools and technologies.
• Design and build quick web applications (Rapid Application
  Development) using InfoPath, and SharePoint Designer.
• Create and edit existing web pages using SharePoint Designer.
• Create databases, tables, maintenance scripts, procedures using SQL.
• Creating Users, user-groups, assigning permissions, performing backup of all sites.
• Create custom surveys in English/Arabic for various departments.
• Create new sites, lists, libraries as per requirement.

Application Testing

• Diagnose, modify, test, and correct the Websites, Intranet Portal, e- Services, applications using various benchmarking and testing tools.
• Diagnose, modify, test, and correct the iOS, Android and Windows mobile applications.
• Ensure that all issues reported by IT QA team are fixed in the
  testing phase of applications.

Systems Launch and Support

• Provide on-going support and resolution of issues reported on
  Organization’s IT systems by internal and external users.
• Support the Senior Software Engineer in carrying out
  presentations and training for internal users at the time of
  launching new internal web applications and e-services.

User Manuals

• Prepare user manuals to ensure that all the required information is captured for internal users.
• Populate Organization’s IT library inclusive of source code,
  developmental documentation, flow charts, approvals, prototypes, new releases etc.

Change Management

• Co-ordinate with external development teams for updates to the mobile applications, iOS Applications, Android Applications, Internet and Intranet Portal, e-Services and HR Portal.
• Carry out development of assigned changes, upgrades or
  enhancements onto existing systems and applications in due
  consultation with different stakeholders to ensure Organization’s IT internal web applications and e-services are current and user friendly.

User interaction

• Assist users in creating content for the portal and website, and resolve problems.
• Answer user's inquiries in person, email and via telephone
  concerning operation of the Internet Portal, Intranet Portal, HR Portal and e-Services

Maintenance

• Install the SharePoint Server, including development and live servers.
• Schedule, manage, test and secure backups of the  Organization Portal/websites
• Keep the Intranet Portal up-to-date with the latest news and developments.
• Integrate legacy applications with the Intranet Portal or websites and provide upgrade path.

Continuous Improvement

• Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous
  improvement of Organization’s systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
• Identify emerging technologies and improvements to the Intranet Portal and websites, and inform users accordingly.

Knowledge and Experience

• A Higher Diploma with a minimum of 5 years experience in web, mobile and related technologies.
• MCTS/MCSD certification is a must for ASP.Net and Sharepoint development.
• Relevant certification in iOS, Android and Windows mobile programming is preferred for working with the various
  mobile applications and websites.
• Relevant experience in administering SharePoint websites, and other Document Management Systems.
• Have strong understanding of various protocols like HTTP and AMF.
• Have good working knowledge of databases and be comfortable in using SQL, MySQL, Oracle or equivalent
  database.
• Be able to use JQuery, JavaScript and similar client side technologies and have basic understanding of LINQ,
  XML and knowledge of Smarty template engine is a plus.
• Have a strong understanding of object oriented programming.
• Be flexible in organising the work as per the requirements.
• Understand how to work in a result-oriented environment and should respect commitments towards the work.
• Be a team player and has the ability to work constructively towards company, team and personal growth.
