Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Manager - Programme Management ( Airfield Systems) for our trusted client in the Aviation industry to be based out of their headquarters in Dubai.

Purpose-

The purpose of this role is to manage the delivery of the projects/ programmes from brief/ business case through to entry into service/ handover, mainly focused on Operating Systems in the Airside environment. The role requires internal project management and leadership, with expertise in stakeholder engagement, problem solving (technical, operational, stakeholder) and development & implementation of a project delivery plan – inclusive of a stakeholder engagement plan. The Project Manager can be accountable for the collaboration, guidance, and cooperation of internal stakeholders in supporting the overall delivery of the projects.
Preferred knowledge of the typical airside systems and assets involved with the role include airside cameras (High Resolution, FOD, Thermal), servers, system applications, campus fibre connectivity, Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) Systems, Airfield Ground Lighting Control & Management System (AGLCMS), Business IT applications and systems, other airport system interfaces and central control workstations.
The role will be supported from operational and subject matter experts from other internal and external departments; however, knowledge of systems and their functional benefits is desired.

Responsibilities-

  • Propose and set up project delivery governance.
  • Lead the stakeholder engagement to define & document the core requirements of the project.
  • Coordinate the Pre-Concept Design activities with the Design, Research &/or SME departments within company.
  • Agree project scope, purpose, estimated costs/ timelines with Business Owner, Programme Lead & Investment Planning.
  • Coordinate and support Brief / Business Case development with the Business Owner, SMEs and Investment Planning.
  • Coordinate and drive forward the appropriate project approvals and documentation.
  • Guide and support less senior (i.e. Grade 7 & 8) Project Managers.
  • Single point of contact for general delivery & stakeholder management.
  • Responsible for the execution of the project in alignment with the Project Management Governance.
  • Can be responsible for the management and oversight of a small programme of projects.
  • Responsible for the development & sign-off of the Project Management Plan (PMP) with the Business Owner & Programme Lead.
  • Manage project delivery at all stages, inclusive of any changes/ variations.
  • Coordinate the Concept & Detailed Design activities with the
  • Design, Research & SME departments within company & with external suppliers where such support is required.
  • Coordinate the Procurement activities with Supply Management.
  • Coordinate the physical works on site including areas out of and back into the operation with all stakeholders.
  • Provide appropriate reporting (e.g. cost, schedule, risks) to ensure transparent communication.
  • Guide and support less senior (i.e. Grade 7 & 8) Project Managers.
  • Manage the handover of the project to the operational teams.
  • Responsible for activities post go-live to ensure compliance with governance.
  • Conduct project lessons learned.
  • Support in benefit realization, as required.
  • Guide and support less senior (i.e. Grade 7 & 8) Project Managers.
  • Demonstrate strong client focus at the project level ensuring good working relationships.
  • Coordinate SME, internal/ external resources, etc. to ensure optimal execution of the projects.
  • Motivate project team members to achieve project objectives.
  • Conduct project reporting as per governance within specified tools and timeframes.
  • Provide best practice support and assist in the continuous improvement of the project management governance, templates and reporting structures unicate/ report across organization, as required.

Skills

  • Project Management experience with Airfield / Special System / ATC System Project Delivery
  • Internal project leadership and stakeholder management for wider business unit engagement and cooperation
  • Ability to resolve complex problems, from a technical, operational and stakeholder viewpoints
  • Project Delivery Plan and Stakeholder Engagement Plan
  • Project Scheduling, Risk & Issues Management, Budget
  • Management, Procurement Strategy & Contract Administration, etc
  • Operational Readiness Activation & Transition experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
