Senior Engineer - Infrastructure

Transguard is currently recruiting for a Senior Engineer - Infrastructure to join their Client's team, based out of their company headquarters in Dubai. 

General description:

The Business Technology is looking for a suitably qualified Senior Infrastructure specialist to support the delivery of the BHS High Level Control Upgrade project. The consultant should be an IT Infrastructure Subject Matter Expert (SME) capable of validating design and ensuring solution is deployed as per the technical requirements.

The role will report into the Business Technology – Senior Manager -Infrastructure Technology and will be responsible for driving the implementation and commissioning of IT Infrastructure and Support Services Package associated to the BHS control upgrade Project.

Job Accountabilities-

Project Stakeholder Communication

• The Consultant shall coordinate with respective client BT SMEs (Data Center, Network, Database, Service Management) and ensures BT standards and guidelines are followed during the design and implementation. In case of any ambiguity, the Consultant shall inform Senior Manager - BT Infrastructure Technology
• The Consultant shall liaise with Solution Architect and ensure design meets functional & technical requirements.
• The Consultant shall liaise with Cyber Security and ensure design meets system compliance & required security controls.
• The Consultant shall closely work with the Strategy and Development client-Design lead, BHS Design Lead and ES BHS SMEs to review, comment and approve contractor submissions during various phases of the project

Project Planning

• The Consultant shall work closely with the Project Manager and other project stake holders to review planning/ phasing and logistics of all the works.
• The Consultant shall be responsible for the day-to-day management of the project activities.

Project Design and Implementation

• The Consultant shall be responsible to review the BT infrastructure concepts, design, development and delivery documents and ensure the infrastructure development is aligned with the upgrade to the BHS HLC upgrade.
• The Consultant shall be responsible for the full implementation of project procedures and processes to execute the infrastructure and support Services package on behalf of client

Documentation and Reporting

• The Consultant shall also review, comment and approve contractors submitted project documentation to ensure accuracy and alignment with contract documentation and clients reference documents.
• The Consultant shall communicate with the project team and stakeholders by participating weekly progress meetings to report progress.

Testing, Commissioning and Handover

• The Consultant shall coordinate all contractual handover and takeover requirements from contractor to client as per clients reference documents.
• The Consultant shall plan, coordinate and attend all Testing and Commissioning activities with the suppliers and provide approvals on acceptance of the system in line with the agreed SOW and approved design.
• The Consultant shall chair a Lessons Learned Project Workshop on completion of delivery, acceptance and handover. Provide a formal Lessons Learned Report following workshop

Technical Competencies

• Experience in Server Infrastructure (Windows, Linux, VMware), Cloud (Azure IaaS, IOT), Network Infrastructure (Cisco, Juniper) and Security infrastructure (Palo Alto)
• Exposure in PLC, BHS, Baggage Screen with system integration on IT Infrastructure.
• Experience in Technology standardization and migrations.
• Experience as Technical Lead
• A firm understanding of security principles, compliance requirements, and remediation practices.
• Understanding of Airport systems and operations.
• Demonstrated experience supporting project implementations
• Proven project documentation capabilities
• Experience with ITIL practices such as incident and change management.
• Requirements analysis, solution design, configuration, end user testing across IT and OT Infrastructure for large complex organizations.
• Experience in Server Infrastructure (Windows, Linux, VMware),, Network Infrastructure (Cisco, Juniper) and Security infrastructure (Palo Alto)
• Exposure in Baggage Handling System,  SCADA system integration with IT Infrastructure.
• Experience in Technology standardization and migrations
• A firm understanding of security principles, compliance requirements, and remediation practices.
• Understanding of Airport systems and operations.
• Demonstrated experience supporting project implementations
• Experience with ITIL practices such as incident and change management.
