Job Description
The Senior Manager - Aviation & Logistics will have overall responsibility for the client portfolio for revenue delivery, account management and operational excellence across the assigned customer account portfolio. The individual will be responsible for delivering the targeted revenue and gross contribution, project managing client mobilizations, day-to-day delivery of operations, contribute to the growth of account portfolio and manage a team of individuals, responsible to ensure all team members are fully engaged and optimised to TG standards. Actively contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the business, with a focus supporting the Director to drive team effort aligned to the mission, vision and strategy of the Group.
The role is heavily focused on operational and service excellence delivered through a strategic approach.
Commercial Management
Develop the business growth of the account portfolio, through new business and organic growth, assuming full commercial responsibility
Implicitly understand the commercial aspects of the contracts and monitor the management of the service to ensure delivery within the boundaries of the contracts and adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Standard Work Instructions (SWIs) and achieving the operational SLA and commercial KPIs
Ensure customer account portfolio are delivering to budgeted targets, revenue and gross contributions, contributing to the department P&L, accurate reporting for forecasting and revenue is maximized
Ensure the Account Team understand the commercial agreement and manage the service delivery within the timelines and deliverables of the contract
Ensure all contracts are always commercially bound and provide clear direction on contract renewals identifying and securing preferred commercial terms
Working closely with the legal and commercial teams be able to provide clear direction on actions throughout the term of contract relating to any breach any actions required to remedy
Responsible for management monthly report with operational data to support the review of the financial performance of the contract scorecard
Ensure that monthly billing and invoices are prepared, delivered and paid within DSO targets and vendor SL.
Ensure that all client and management reports and presentations are delivered within the deadlines and to the required standards.
Customer and Relationship Management
Proactively manage the relationship with the client in line with the RACI matrix under the guidance of the Account Manager
Manage the key contacts and relationship within your account portfolio, ensure the account is full managed and relationships are developed at every level.
Provide ideas on growth initiatives to maximize the potential opportunities with new clients and contacts
Ensure all commercials are within the bounds of the contracts and billing accurately reflects all terms and conditions
Effective debtor management across the Account Portfolio ensure risk profiles are fully secured with all clients and decisive actions are taken where necessary to protect the business
Operational Delivery
Responsible for the delivery of managed solutions, manpower services and vendor management.
Lead in the development and deployment of the strategy and customer plans relating to safe working environment, health and safety and people.
Evaluate proposed and required changes to managed solutions and manpower services identifying financial, personnel and operational performance implications prior to confirmation and implementation of service changes and manage change process as appropriate.
Ensure that the operations team successfully completes scheduled activities and provide prompt and robust response to non-planned activities in line with agreed Statement of Work.
Ensure all operations following Operations Manual and Standard Operating Processes and Procedures
Optimize operation through: CI improvements, planning demand and supply, accuracy of data, a planned operation, business resilience, adhering to governing body regulations.
Ensure the Account Managers and Operations Team manage all mobilisations, demobilisations and daily operations are executed to plan, completed within the agreed timeframes and all KPIs are met
Operational Excellence
Drive a lean culture within the team, focused on operational excellence and business performance
Ensure direct reports are focused on value added activity, working towards achieving the goals on the balanced score cards
Team Management
Lead, motivate and develop the team’s members reporting directly to you and influence the positive behaviour of the wider team
Act as a role model to encourage development of high performing individuals and teams; motivating employees to deliver consistently high levels of performance and continuous improvement
Establish an environment that strives for continuous improvement by encouraging contributions from employees.
Provide constructive ideas for improvements in processes and procedures that would deliver further efficiencies and service enhancement
Monitor all processes applied by each team member to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of these teams.
Drive the department’s vision and ensuring those values are adopted among all team members, which results in the formation of the HR department’s working culture.
Ensure employee potential is maximised by devising training and development strategies; encouraging cross-team activities/participation and a coaching/mentoring approach
This is an active role and not simply a point of accountability – the individual will be expected to get directly involved.
Ensure the team is managed in line with all Performance Manager SOPs throughout their employee lifecycle
Skills
- Proven work experience in Aviation and Logistics in a Senior role
- Minimum of 15 years work experience, with 8 years being spent managing complex team of people
- Requires specialist knowledge of Aviation and Logistics industry with high degree of initiative, creativity and wide scope for discretion
- 5 years’ experience working in the Aviation and Logistics industry at senior level, preferably both supplier and client side
