Senior Reservoir Engineer

Transguard Workforce Solutions is now recruiting for a Senior Reservoir Engineer for a client in the oil and gas industry. The role will be for a period of 6 months (extendable).

In this role, your responsibilities include the following:

• Updating and generating black oil and compositional simulation models with field development planning and short- and long-term profiles. Conducting model sensitivities and prioritise development schemes applying best practices, risk assessment and economics.
• Undertaking reservoir studies to attain stated objectives and translate results into operational guidelines.
• Coordinating and working with Geoscientists on reservoir characterization and upscaling.
• Independently building sizable FF simulation models, history match and use them in predictions.
• QC consistency of simulation model, history match changes with respect to geological model characteristics.
• Describing the basis for various types of secondary recovery process and what is the importance of proper process design, its influence on the recovery factors and fundamental limitations
• Demonstrating characteristics and relative merits of the most widely used equations of state and the reasons.
• Deriving EOS and convert simple black oil models to compositional.
• Diagnosing model convergence and run-time problems.
• Using models to design IOR/EOR methods (WI, Immiscible GI, Miscible GI, Surfactant, and polymer injection) to enhance recovery and pressure maintenance methods.
• Applying different methods of reserves estimation using probabilistic calculations, Mbal, DCA and simulation models sensitivities.
• Using simulation models to identify required action to maximise recovery/meet current production quotas.
• Understanding and applying multiphase flow in the reservoir, effective permeability concept and correlations for relative permeabilities. 
• Integrating pressure and production test results for reservoir simulation and management decisions
• Designing, following up QC and analyzing reservoir studies e.g. RCA, SCAL and PVT
• Defining and planning short- and long-term drilling and workover requirements with Operations.
• Liaising with contractors, conducting study analyses, reviewing findings and action recommendations.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

• Minimum BSc / B.Tech in Chemical Engineering / Petroleum Engineering or equivalent. 
• 15+ years of experience as reservoir engineer, preferred in the region of UAE and/or Oman
• Background in reservoir studies and field development plans
• Excellent experience in reservoir sensitivity and uncertainty analysis, dynamic reservoir modeling: initialisation, history matching, forecast, analysis.
• Software experience: PETREL, ECLIPSE, INTERSECT, PIPESIM, KAPPA - SAPHIR, MBAL, GAP, PROSPER, AVOCET, IAM
