System Engineer- Abu Dhabi

Role Purpose-

Systems Administration includes planning, deployment and administration of servers, backup and restoration of business-critical applications and SAN storage management to meet the application and data requirements of the IT systems.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Capacity Management

• Support the Chief Officer - IT Operations in the process of capacity, configuration and release of IT systems which includes HP servers, Sharepoint portal, MS Exchange etc. in accordance with defined timelines and policy standards to support business process and user requirements.

IT Infrastructure - Systems and Storage Design and Implementation

• Ensure that the IT systems and storage design is in line with the enterprise architecture.
• Implement systems in line with the best in class practices to ensure high levels of system performance and availability for end users.
• Install all EMC products such as storage, backup solutions, replication, synchronisation and other security solutions to ensure internal users get easy and secure access to IT systems and applications.
• Install and administer corporate antivirus solution

Communications

• Install and administer email solutions and gateways to ensure seamless messaging system for users.
• Install and administer Blackberry solution to ensure end users have access to emails on their hand-held devices.

System Administration

• Manage the administration of IT systems, solutions and technologies to the required standards by analysing, troubleshooting and correcting system-related problems to resolve operational problems timely and efficiently.
• Lead the effective administration of various IT systems identifying errors in the database and ensuring timely resolution of same to maintain an error free database in eservices with high reliability of data.
• Provide helpdesk support services to facilitate smooth functioning of the Company’s business processes and resolution of issues faced by end users.
• Schedule and monitor backups for all network and security devices
• Administer antivirus server to ensure all clients are with latest security updates
• Administer virtual servers on existing physical servers with view to minimizing physical server cost

Standards

• Design and implement Group policies to ensure user access is in line with international standards.
• Set up baseline templates as per Microsoft recommendations.

Patches Management

• Apply patch management for all operating systems and databases in the servers to ensure that systems operations run smoothly without any impact to end users and business critical applications

System Upgrades and enhancements

• Apply changes of new versions and service upgrades to software’s and implementation of latest firmware’s across the network to ensure system performance

User Support and Training

• Train help desk on use of new software and hardware as required
• Attend information security awareness sessions keep up to date
• Update and train team members in company on new technologies and systems as and when necessary

Documentation and Reporting

• Document all system-related records, like information backup activities, patch installation and updates etc.
• Document commissioning and decommissioning of systems

• Higher Diploma in Computer Science, Electronics and Communication
• Should have at least 3-4 years experience in similar role
• Clear understanding of DNS / DHCP Operations and Active Directory, MS Windows Operating System.
• Knowledge of ITIL process.
• Strong experience in MS Exchange, Sharepoint Portal Server, Blackberry Server and VM Storage management.
• Knowledge of EMC Sans, Managing LUNS, Raid Levels, De Duplication Methodology
• Knowledge of cluster environment on database level
• Strong experience in antivirus management tools and operations.
• Certification on Cisco CCNP (composite) in routing and switching, Microsoft certified System Administrator (MCSA), Cisco voice network (CCNA) is a must.
• Extensive experience in handling LAN and WAN operations, network design and extending the Network, MPLS IP VPN Network, routing and switching, Cisco ASA/PIX, Juniper SSG Firewalls, IP-Sec VPN Security, network access control, wireless networking, and Cisco unified communications, DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory on Windows platform.
• Extensive experience in management of data centre operations, networks and systems.
• Excellent knowledge of maintenance, implementation, design and management of heterogeneous network infrastructure.
• Good working knowledge of Installation, configuration and administration of Clustered Windows Server (with OS/Application level clustering and load balancing) including management of web site. Installation and troubleshooting Windows 2003/2008 servers.
• Excellent knowledge of management of various services like DNS, Domain Controllers, Active Directory, and SQL database including for web based application programs, IIS, Trend Micro Antivirus & Scan Mail for Exchange, IMSS SMTP Gateway, IWSS Web filtering.
• Hands on experience of maintaining and handling Exchange Server 2007/2010, Black Berry Enterprise Solution, EMC SAN, Networker backup solution.
• Excellent in managing, collecting and maintaining Arc Sight environment log from all the devices including servers network and applications, day-to-day monitoring of the critical logs and coordinate along with network and server administrator for the events.
• Good knowledge of managing OPs manager monitoring solution for all IT infrastructure devices.
• Good understanding on the development of content for Arc Sight ESM, including correlation rules, dashboards, reports, visualizations.
• Excellent understanding of the monitoring and creating weekly reports of all the devices through Op Manager and Arc Sight
• Hands-on experience of installation and maintenance of security infrastructure, including IPS, IDS, log management and security assessment systems.
