Transguard is now looking to recruit a Workshop Manager for our Transportation division. The successful candidate will be responsible for all activity in the Transguard workshop including planning, workflow, and job management, maintaining safety, managing the workforce, and liaising with vendors and internal customers.
He/she will also be responsible for the overall P&L for workshop operations, including spares, inventory and consumables to ensure that monthly P&L is achieved whilst managing the service levels agreed with customers – vehicle up time and monthly cost per km metrics to be monitored.
In this role, your responsibilities include the following
- Accountable for the operational P&L, monitoring the annual spend against budget and reporting on variance
- Implementing safe working practices and operational policies and procedures for the Workshop operations team, enforcing and upholding TG compliance and value
- Responsible for effective maintenance scheduling to ensure customer plans can be managed as per SLA
- Planning, initiating, monitoring & controlling workshop jobs & operational requirements to achieve customer SLA
- Planning & management of spare parts inventory maintaining 100% accuracy
- Negotiating & liaising with suppliers for spare parts and consumable
- Monitoring maintenance cost on daily basis
- Monitoring overall performance of workshop and efficiency of the workforce relative to throughput
- Ensuring timely completion of work orders & reduce downtime & rework for fleet vehicle
- Managing the disposal of assets in the workshop generating additional revenue streams for metal, tyres, oil and other materials of value
Skills
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Degree in Technical Discipline (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- Experience in technical discipline – hands on background in workshop set up and management
- Maintenance technical background
- Workshop systems
- UAE Legislation and Local or Federal Regulatory Compliance
- Vehicle Fleet Management
